All merchants must be in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding the offer, sale, shipment, geographic restriction, delivery, packaging, and customer age verification requirements in order to list alcoholic beverages through our site. Merchants must, at all times while listing through our site, possess all valid licenses required for the retail sale of beverages containing alcohol in the applicable jurisdiction(s). Merchants must notify Groupon and cease accepting and fulfilling orders immediately if any applicable alcoholic beverage license is suspended, surrendered, canceled, terminated or revoked.


Additional Requirements for listings for alcoholic beverages:

  • Bottle Size (fl. oz.)

  • Number of bottles

  • Sets/sampler packs: Include set contents section listing out the different items in the sampler

  • Must be 21+ years of age to order. Adult signature required at delivery. By placing an order for one of these items you are declaring that you are 21 years of age or over.

Shipping Requirements:

Only Wine sold by approved merchants are approved to ship.

  • As the Merchant, you must include the list of states you are licensed to sell and ship in your description or the list of states you cannot ship to. You may only sell, ship, and deliver alcoholic beverages in jurisdictions in which you are legally permitted to do so.

  • Alcohol cannot be shipped directly to consumers in Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Utah, Puerto Rico, or Canada. Even if you are licensed to ship to these states, you will not be able to do so through our third party Marketplace.  Restricted states are subject to modification to comply with changing legal requirements. Merchants may include additional states that they are not licensed to ship alcohol to. 

  • Merchants located in Washington, D.C. cannot sell alcoholic beverages for shipment through the Groupon platform.

  • Package Size/Amount - Merchant must include the package size/amount (e.g. “750ml” or “Four 250mL (8.4oz) Cans”) and any information on ingredients or alcohol content required by state or local laws.
